The rattling sound is more like a fizzle or something loose about to fall off the car so everybody hates it.

If you mean the change in exhaust note, it depends. I found same as Mr Pockets that I did not like it. The sound is not deeper or rumbling. Instead it gets harsher and flatter and louder without the resonator.

If you are good with a welder or brazing rods, cut out the resonator, replace with straight pipe and see if you like it. [don't throw away the resonator]

Personally I thought it was awful.
