Question AT Cooler?/Synthetic ATF?

Close to summer here in beautiful Fresno, CA (90 to 108 degrees), so gotta consider high ATF temperatures. My questions for your kind help:

1. What is best AT Cooler, brand and size (are all 3/4" thick?)?

2. Should I run Redline D4 ATF (as I had started to change over to before dealer did AT service [fluid in/out at same time] last November [when they thought my rough idle/shuddering problem was the torque convertor!] or stick with the Dexron I guess they used at the AT fluid service changeover?

3. Is ATF temp guage needed? If so, easiest way to install, what kind, and where?

4. Should I go to the trouble of putting in a manual switch for the fans (for heavy traffic/ low airflow)?

5. At what temp should the fluid be at to be OK? Or, what temp should the fans be definitely on?

PLEASE GIVE SPECIFIC ADVICE (I WON'T HOLD ANYONE LIABLE)!
thanks
