Oh I do get worried when I smell rubber burning.
The brake light in my SVX comes on when the level is low in the fluid reservoir. It is an easy check and fix.

Smelling anything out of the ordinary gets me nervous. How does any smell get in the SVX?
It has to come thru the air supply system to the cabin by way of the grate under the wiper blades. Well if the windows are closed and the a/c is on. If it does not come in from outside then it has to be in the cabin.

Ruber does not smell electrical er ah as in burning wire insulation which is the one smell I always wait for to go away and then say GREAT it was some one else in front of me

Rubber smell? Can it be you are taking the corners at a good clip and the front is doing a little understeer??? Then you would smell the tires sliding.

Maybe one of the engine belts is a little loose......... Easy check too !!

How's the clearance to the back of the crank pulley where it would rub on plastic T-belt cover?

Take care,

John
