water in passanger compartment - how to fix it

Dear All,

after heavy rain I noticed the floor behind passanger & driver seat was soaking wet. I am not 100% sure (since the car was not exposed to heavy rain this far again), but I believe I found the root cause: The fancy looking door window design. The inserted metal frame does two things: It works like a rain guard and - unfortunately - creats a non linear profile (where it connects to the door body) for the seal to fit. Due to aging the seal becomes stiff and does not fit anymore (s. pictures). So I cut it at the inner (moveable window) side and filled the gap at the outer (non moving window) side with silicone.
The triangle in the lower corner has the same bending effect on the seal, so I cut it, too. This far the SVX kept dry in the inside...

Kind Regards

Marcus
