'bout as similar as an Elm and an Oak; from the right distance and in the right light they might look pretty damn similar (they're both trees)... but the differences are pretty pronounced once you put your glasses back on, stand back on your feet instead of your head, remove the cooking pot from you face etc. etc.

Seriously... there's no harm in trying, but apart from being both horizontally-opposed 6-cylinder engines they're not at all similar... it's like comparing the SVX engine to a Lycoming engine from a Cessna; 6-cylinders, horizontally opposed... but WILDLY different.

There'd be a lot of work involved in trying it though... custom parts fab... brackets... hell, probably new pistons might be an idea. Probably not worth it in the long run, but hey, it's your pocketbook!!

And no... if someone told you the engine was "designed by Porsche" or is "The same as a Porsche engine", then they're full of sh*t.
