Why would you prefer another engine. A 2.5 has about 165 HP and a TDI even less. The 3.3 is 225 HP. There is no advantage mileage or horsepower wise with a 3.0.
The cost of swapping would be large to say the least.
P.S. I hope for your sake that the '97 SVX you raped for the engine was a wreck. The SVX Gods will take a dump on you otherwise.
