Well Ho HO Ho it died on the way home last night again.
It happend in the exact same place!
Whirring sound was back. After it died I shut it off and waited
a couple minutes and started it again- and it went into gear
and off I went- for about a half mile- then starts to slip again
until it's like I'm in neutral.
So I had to keep pulling over, shut the car off- sometimes just
for a few seconds and when I started back up it would move fine
for about half mile. I had to do this about 9 times to get home
but at least I made it.
Needless to say I have to get it to the shop but I just don't
understand how I could have no tranny at all then shut the
car off for a few seconds and start it again and it's back to life.
Any further guesses?? Not a very merry xmas.
