Like anything, adjust in small increments. Its probably different car to car, but a full turn will move my clutch engagement a full inch higher or lower. You do not need to tighten the lock nut to test out where the clutch is. Just turn the rod, get in, put the car into first, slowly release the clutch not using any gas. When you have it where you want, go back and tighten the locking nut.
