I had matching 235/45 17" all round and the rubbing was ridiculous, and was wearing down the side walls. Even tho it makes sense that not having matching tyre sizes is a bad idea, it was either leave on my existing tyres and risk the side wall blowing out or get a quick fix with the money I had.

Even tho it is only such a small difference in the width of the tyre is there anything I can do temporarily to help it not 'destroy my ttransmission' e.g. Pump up my back tyres more or something? Is this an urgent thing I need to change? Or are replacing things like my ball joint and cv boot more important to spend my money on first?
