You have risked a dodgy fault finding technique, but have been very lucky.
A ten amp fuse is not good protection in the circumstances.
You cut a wire which you considered was grounded, as a result of an existing fault. This must result in the defeat of something in respect of the ECU. However you advise that everything is running, but is it to full specifications?
You must discover and confirm, the exact connection which you have broken, so the situation can be analysed, i.e. find that needle in this haystack.
