Does this apply to OBDII as well? Or are they checked through the diagnostic port instead?

I've thought about doing this, just in case I ever need it (in the snow) someday. It's so rarely used that IMO it would be nicer to have power mode as the button on the shifter and have the manual mode as the additional rocker switch placed elsewhere. Only reason I haven't done it yet, is because it has never been needed in the entire 13 years the car has been on the road. BUT, if it's necessary for diagnostic purposes, then I may go forward with this after all.
