this might seem real strange for a guy from Florida, but yes I use them from time to time. here's why:
2 car garage, three cars. if the SVX (my ride) is last home then it sits outside. we have so much humidity that the windows and mirrors are fogged in the morning from dew, and will fog over again as you drive.
So, I use a california water blade to pull water off the surfaces, then use the rear window and side view mirror heaters to keep the glass clear until air flow or whatever takes over enough to keep them clear.
