I recently sold a car on BaT. I heard it took a long time to get from submission to listing, so I went through the initial submission process before I had my "glam shots". They require some pics though at the time of initial submission, so I popped some in from other times when I'd taken a pic or two, just to keep things moving. I added the "glam shots" later. I also had plenty of opportunity to edit those original pictures out before the auction went live. In other words the seller may have grenaded his own auction.

The market is definitely softening. I agree, that seems like a decent result in this case, all things considered.
