Re: How to remove driveshaft without losing Tranny fluid
Update.
replaced the tranny mount this weekend. The problem was the shop that replaced it the last time, did not replace the center stopper and nut, to keep the mount from flexing upward and it eventually ripped the rubber cushions.
Installation of the new mount was fairly uneventful except for one issue.
One of the 4 screws holding the mount to the transmission is striped.
All four of those bolts released with a pop suggesting the presence of loctite, but the other three screwed in and were torqued tight. I just tighten the fourth as best as I could and left it as is.
Would anyone pursue this further?
The stripped hole is the most rearward on the left so access is not bad. I could tap out a larger screw size or insert a helicoil or timisert, but there is limited aluminum there to work with.
Thanks.
