The resonator is after the cat...the intermediate pipe/resonator as it is referred to or sometimes the posterior pipe ..resonator and 4 feet of pipe attach to rear transverse muffler/tail pipes. The resonator is more often the source of buzzing over the cat per my reading of forum posts.
Some replace resonator with straight pipe or smaller can..posts again suggest an annoying drone with straight pipe and lack of "scavenging" feature that resonator supplys.
