That is the same place that Subaru put them in the 97 & 98 Outbacks that I had, the thing to remember is drink the liquid down a little before placing it in the holder. Both of the Outbacks mentioned had radio buttons that did not work, when I bought them, due to pop or coffee being spilled down the front
