Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

You're in luck then, Reberto.
Since you're putting in a Subaru Forester radio the sub harness plugs into that radio no problem.
You will need the forward adapter to connect to the SVX's radio plug coming from inside the dashboard.
Get a pre-wired adapter from Dave Carter (he has a wide selection of options) to splice to the Sub harness or just get the connector and move the pins.

Let us know how it all shakes out. I'm glad I did it. Mounting under the passenger seat fills the car with strong lows or thumps as the music requires. And in fact I had to adjust the sub gain level lower to get a decent balance with the cabin speakers.

As for the breakout box, my 10 CD changer's FM modulator is screwed to the side of the transmission tunnel under the carpet in the passenger footwell. There's a lot of room for coiled up cables and components under there...not so much on the driver side where the antenna connections are.
Another thing you'll need is a short antennae extender cable from the radio to the RCA connectors under the carpet.
The Forester Radio is not diversity so it's up to you and testing whether to connect to the retractable antenna or the one imbedded in the back glass. One or the other, do not use a Y joint to gang both antennas together - it confuses the radio.
