Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Passenger seat jammed while sliding back a few days ago. It would slide forward and back about 2 inches and not lock into place.
Started to pull it out for a look and found that one of the bolts was flopping around and wouldn't unscrew from the nut on the other side.

Took it back to the panel shop and found out he had refitted the seat bolts using a air gun rather than a hand tool and had apparently broken off the nut inside the bodywork that the seat bolt threads into.

An hour of mucking around later and we had cut the bolt off and got the seat out. Set about repairing the broken off bolt by welding a washer over the hole, drilling out a 12mm hole and fitting a rivet bolt (some sort of bolt/nut combination that works like a rivet).

While the panel guy did that I went looking into the seat to work out why it had jammed. Worth noting that it had released and was working ok sometime during the pull apart to get it out.

Eventually I found a Japanese 100 yen coin covered in grease and badly bent out of shape jammed in the seat track. Pulled this out, refitted seat, bolted up the rivet bolt and all is fine and dandy.

Vacuumed the carpet and fitted the mats.

Connected the battery up to one of those fancy 7 stage intelligent chargers in an effort to get the battery working correctly.

Off to the muffler shop tomorrow to get a small exhaust leak fixed.
Back to the Subaru dealer on Thurs to get the WOF (state safety inspection) repeated (it failed on the exhaust leak only). Then on Friday off on a 500km road trip. (Hamilton to Wellington, via New Plymouth).
