A member of this site, "SVXHunter" worked on the crew for that movie. It was one of his fleet. For the crash, he hung a crumpled fender over the good one. Other than that, the car was unharmed.
He posted about it back when he was working on it, if you search for "fireproof" by SVXhunter, it should pop up.
