Spent a good part of Wednesday rebuilding the knuckle in the Legacy shift linkage. The original bushings were literally "gone", allowing the shifter to wobble around, actually moving as much as 6" to either side, while in gear. Very distracting having it move of its own accord every time it took a corner. Also replaced the nylon ball on shifter end, worn quite a bit as well, after 236K miles. Hardest part of the exercise was driving out the roll pin that held the whole thing together, above the driveline and exhaust. Did I mention it was 95 degrees in the shade yesterday?
