The whole car buffing would include buffing the headlights.
How about a headlight buffing product face-off? Mother's vs. DuPont, etc.
Tom will apply the various concoctions to all $20 contributors, & we'll vote as to who's lenses most resemble John's. Tom will receive the "High Buffoon" trophy for his efforts.
