How was YOUR day?

I walk into work just after sun-up. The mechanic said that we have a new picture
to throw darts at. ?????????? A driver said, "There's the Celebrity!"
Then, 2 months and 2 days later, the paper did a 1/3 page pic and artical about
the 'Citations', etc from my 'winning' the Mayor's Challenge!
I had not seen it yet.
Well I walk to my 'dispatcher' desk. The supervisor tells me that a bus will be
sitting downtown at 10:00 that I need to go drive for an hour.
Did that, then another 1/2 hour till someone came to get the bus.
I walk back to the dispatch desk, other guy goes to lunch. 3rd dispatcher had a
baby Monday, well, HE didn't have the baby, but he was there to WATCH, so he
didn't show up for work. Now he's burning all his 'personal and vacation' days.
(It's his first kid, so I understand)
Where was I?, OH YEA!!
I get calls stacked on top of each other, then the cell rings.. Eldest daughter,
after 15 years of really great driving, slipped on an oil patch on a wet road
and CENTERPUNCHED a GMC!
She's hysterical! Has NO idea what to do. Everyone is OK, so I called for a
rollback to haul her Trooper to my house. They got to know each other till the
rollback got there.
Then it was my 'lunch' time, so I jumped into the car and flew to the Motor
Vehicle Admin to get some paperwork done. (This was the THIRD time I have
carried that paperwok through those doors!!)
The woman pulled her glasses down her nose, made me scratch a few more 'X's on a
few more lines, then handed me my tags! (After I handed her a check for too much
money).
Back to work I go. More drivers crying over the 'workload', EXCUSE me, That is
'JOB SECURITY'! Go GET them and shut UP!
Now, I am safe and sound, back on the Subi site, blowing off steam and
'hopefully, brightening somone's day!
