Re: Building it up only to let it go - those who've jumped ship. *LONG*

This thread IS depressing but, some very good sentiment expressed. My daily driver is a 92 (made 10/91) liquid silver LSL. It will be 20 years old in just over a month. I am planning for an engine rebuild if needed. I have owned this SVX since April 1999, nearly 12.5 years, it had 69340 miles then. Today 124k+, an average of 4435 miles a year. I am 70, retired and now a days drive just twice a week, 38 miles to the golf club and home. I have done nearly all the repairs and maintenance with the help of this forum.

I'm not going anywhere. I get 22 mpg, now interested in better mileage from a pregnant roller skate.

The only issue with my SVX is the front wipers have not worked for 9 years but, hey I'm living in the desert and it rains twice a year maybe, with the slope of the windshield once I get to 40 mph the rain flies off and visibility is no problem, faster is better.

I paid $8944 in April 1999, maybe $2000 in new parts over the years, never had car payments, never stranded.

I will keep driving it till they take my driver's license away.
