To use an analogy: Imagine getting married to someone who brings into the marriage a huge debt. But you love that person enough to tackle the problem together. Obama DEFINITELY caused the huge and rapid increase in the national debt and deficits. His party was the major (not only) contributor in the financial mess caused mostly by the housing debacle.

Back to your analogy---you marry her and love her so much that you give her all of your credit cards. She runs out and runs them all to the limits and then goes down and borrows money against your house and business and goes and and lavishes the proceeds on all of her former friends and relatives (half that do not work) and several old boy friends. And she talks you into withdrawing all of you 401K. That is where we are.
