Car Show

Yesterday, I participated in a local car show in northern, suburban DE. The show was run by the local fire dept. for the benefit of the Ronald McDonald House. I entered our '92 teal SVX, 'ALCYONE' which we bought from Nubs in May (thanks Mike). The show was very eclectric with antique cars (model Ts) '20s-'60s cars, street rods, fire trucks, military vehicles , and tons of stock and customized camaros, corvetes & mustangs. There was also a Morris Minor (right hand drive...imagine that) plus a Lloyd.
Just my luck, it rained during the judging. Anyway, I won a nice second place in class trophy which suprised the heck out of me. The best in show class was won by a late model customized Corvete with more painted artwork on it than hangs in the Louvre. The 'children's award' went to a 1943 Chevrolet Army Staff Car convertible with a 50 caliber machine gun mounted behind the front seat (what child doesn't like a car with a big hunking gun).

I had a wonderful time and will participate again next year.
