My first ever post on any forum anywhere so apologise if not getting this right
Bought a gorgeous SVX by accident (I was just looking, honestly) 8 weeks ago for £2300 and I'm a convert. Having spent the last decade driving various fully loaded quattro Audi station wagons this
sports car, whilst in the same general mould of safe, fast, engineering excellence, is much quieter at my customary 80mph (my drive to work is 25 miles of UK dual carriageway) much much more exclusive and, as you will know, just so much more relaxing to drive.

Actually I didn't, at first, believe that last bit (regularly mentioned in the forum) until I tried a two-hour run from home in Wiltshire to central London. Wow. I did indeed step out as fresh as a daisy. The car has only done 65k miles in its 18 years and was clearly looked after well with a full book of main dealer service records showing about 3 to 4 thousand miles of driving every year.
I have fitted 17 inch STI wheels - keeping the old ones for winter tyres, have had two new front driveshafts fitted (plus pins!) because the old rubbers were split and entire new shafts were so cheap on Ebay. Am having the propshaft removed and the center bearing changed this week (knocking noise on take-off and vibration at 22mph) and expect it to be expensive. The last guy's garage must have chosen to remove the ABS (presumably a leaky pump) so I have now got hold of a good second hand pump and am again having that whole lot recomissioned together with new relays and new stainless braided flexible brake hoses. I have changed-out the front and rear speakers, have ordered a steering pump "o" ring and have an ECUtune TCU chip on order too (I found it reasonably easy to socket a second-hand TCU myself). Finally, I have taken delivery of a late model grille which is being painted ready for fitting soon (that waterfall just doesn't do it for me).
For the interior I've usefully used up all my children's black school-shoe scuff-cover to touch-up the faded bits of leather where the seat belt rubs and spent a great 40 mins smearing the seats with Autoglym leather care balm which, as well as being excellent on the leather, was appreciated more widely for giving me baby-soft hands that saturday evening.
The forum BTW is absolutely, absolutely brilliant. I have found all the info I need to prepare this car for the long term as a daily driver. Stuff I would never ever have known or guessed at, so thanks to you all, and yes its very much worth a donation.
And that was about it until...
Doh! I've accidentally bought
another one in red for weekends (£1600 this time). Bloody Ebay. I havent picked it up yet - but vendor's photo attached.
