To augment my original post: I don't suppose it's ever a bad idea to have legal representation in court... the possible exception being traffic court.

A better play might be to consult an attorney on referral. Don't just throw a dart at a phone book and hope for the best. Pay for an hour of his or her time and see what they think of your chances. Then decide.

And remember, all this advice you're soliciting online is worth what you're paying for it. (I'm not an attorney but I used to be married to one.)

Georgia enacted some "super speeder" hyper-fine system awhile back. Don't recall the details, but I do know I've been minding my speed in well-patrolled areas.
