Also, are you thining about going to the Sept or Oct. autox? If so do they require a roll bar for convertibles. How about a sound limit as I know I'm pushing the 98dBA.

Ben,
Not sure what the "golden Chains are" ....
The next tack day for the Mercedes Club is July 24/25, 2010 at Summit Point Raceway- two weeks from now. Great price for running - $175 per day or $340 for both days - check out

For convertibles, a roll bar IS REQUIRED at Summit Point and most other tracks. Roll bars are NOT required for autocross.
I plan to make all of the Mercedes autocrosses for the rest of the year as well as Cumberland Pumpin Carve. As long as your car is licensed for the road with valid tags, inspection sticker, etc, there should be no problem with how loud it is. We had, a few months ago, a Cobra to come run autocross with us, and he was stopped by the cops on the way there for being too loud, but he was allowed to run with us - it was a 428 Cobra Superformance. Boy was he fast - took Fastest Time of the Day!
Autocross schedule is at
http://gws-mbca.org/ax/autocross.html - hope you can make one and perhaps the Summit event - but do have a roll bar for Summit.
