I have a pair of those too, made from a well worn non-OE key that the car came with. Luckily both of the new ones I had made do work fine.
I think I may need another security fob, though... one is good, but I keep having to shuffle keychains for it, and mine has the plastic broken away from the screw thread inserts, and is missing two of the four screws. I had to put a battery in it, for it to work anyway.
Anybody got a good source for a new one, or a compatible alternate one? EDIT - sorry, I didn't read far enough down the thread to see some more info.
