When the diff went it made a loud clunking noise which increased with the speed of the car. Pulled over right away and had it towed home. I was hoping it was a bad axle. When I put it on the lift with it in park I spun one front wheel which would normally cause the opposite wheel to spin backwards, which it didn't do so I knew something in the diff was gone. Never took it apart but I am pretty sure it sheared off some of the gears. My AWD didn't work before that so I just changed out the entire transmission.

Got it. Do you think driving with an inoperative AWD caused the front diff to fail? How long were you without AWD? (that's my current problem)
