As for saving cost, if that were the reason for linking the bar to the rear lateral link on the STI, it would seem that the WRX would be a better candidate for cost saving, due to greater number of sales [assumed].
If for suspension geometry, that factor would have to be a greater positive than the resulting shorter bar. It would seem that tweaking suspension geometry for STI-only would be the opposite direction of cost
