Re: Dreaded Open Door beep

I solved this issue the "easy" way!!
1. attempt to remove blower motor *
2. realize blower motor won't come out until glove box is removed
3. remove glove box 99% , all screws out, but have right "strap" keep whole unit from being removed
4. some time later notice a "clip" to push in to slide "strap" off of "door"
5. remove complete glove box
6. with door open and key in, try to figure out where the BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP beep beep beep beep BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP beep beep beep beep BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP beep beep beep beep BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP beep beep beep beep BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP beep beep beep beep BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP beep beep beep beep comes from
7. after hearing the sound long enough, you realize the sound has two different "tones" and can't take it any more, thus time for another "COKE" break
8. after locating the box, figure out how to remove it
9. after removing the box, open it by popping off the end cap
10. after popping off the end cap, pull out the circuit board.
11. take time to admire the craftsmanship of this precision electronic device and notice how the noise emitter is just sitting there
12. PRY gently to remove the tone generator and save for future re-installation

reassemble %

* now is a good time to disassemble, clean, lubricate, reassemble blower motor, which is how this project got started, because it had a slight noise

% I have yet to put back glove box #

# pending remote start install
