When we can buy a rebuilt for $60-$80 that has a lifetime guarantee why would anyone mess around trying to put a new boot on the old one? Just "change the dang thing"

Depends on how long the other one has been on the car, but I would always consider replacing both while I was under there with the car up on jackstands, tools handy, me all icky, etc.

I also would always break the axle nut lose before I jacked up the car. I would also drive the pins out the correct direction
