As far as I know the long centre console that divides the back seats effectively was only available in the US market.
I'm open to correction on this, because I'm not exactly certain about the German and French cars. However, I think they also got the shorter kind like that shown above.
It's not strictly correct to say the 5 seater cars had the shorter console. From what I have seen so far only the JDM market could be thought of as a 5 seater, due to the fact that the centre person in the back gets a
lap seatbelt in Japan. On all other markets I have seen there are only 4 seatbelts, so by default they are designed for only 4 people, taking insurance issues in mind.
