i've got a '97 and i still put in an aftermarket cooler/filter. tranny will still get above 200 deg on a hot day going up hills. if you get a temp gauge you can monitor when its getting hot and take measures to cool it down, such as avoiding inclines, coasting, etc. i said before, if i had to do it over again, i'd get a cooler with a fan and the programmable temp gauge that would trigger the fan at a preset temp. check out www.summitracing.com for coolers/filters/gauges.
