I know painting can be a pain but carbon fiber layovers are exactly that. The use of carbon fiber is to lose weight and gain durability over fiberglass. haha. Good joke on the rice thing - totally missed it! Way I see it, you have to seriously go out of your way to get a non-4cyl to be a ricer - Certainly a carbon wing doesn't qualify you compared to most of the atrocities out there.
"should" would be the key word in all that - fact is, I can get away not painting it, and its fine. Vs. the gel coat, if I don't paint it, it looks ugly.
