Well, I have to say Congratulations, Chris, you did us proud, and yet I can see you are more than disappointed and you feel possibly you had the winnings in your hand.
Please excuse my ignorance/innocence here; I have always thought drag racing was about the shortest elapsed time over a quarter mile. Is that not the case here? What is the point of applying brakes before the finish line?
Other terminology you use is strange to a novice or newby who has never attended a drag race. What exactly do you do to "dial" up your car before the off? Does it mean you set up parameters on the engine tune, or does it mean you predict a figure you are going to match or beat or something?
