I think by best he means less likely for the tranny to explode.
you could get a fwd one....but why?
If you're looking for a car thats cheap to maintain, get a corolla. the svx didnt have many changes throught it's production period. Some of the tranny issues were....fixedish...after 1994, but still, the front diffs fail when abused
The best svx, as far as reliability, is one with some service records, or a mechanicly inclined owner.
As for options, trim levels, ect. Theres a spiffy little chart somewhere...I think it was either in the how-to's or on a diffrent site
