Your hints and information is invaluable to me in purchasing my first SVX in the near future, hopefully. The preventative measures sounds the best way to go. I'll keep my eyes open for others on the market as they all vary. I've seen 4 recently - ranging from very unloved to immaculate (for a 15 year old car) - of course the price varies considerably too!
