The SS lines won't expand as much as the stock brake lines when you press on the brake pedal, thus putting more hydraulic pressure on the pads, which results in firmer braking. Make sure to do a thorough job bleeding all of the air out of the system after you install them!
Earl was dead on with his suggestion to go with slotted or dimple drilled & slotted rotors. Going to these rotors with SS lines should be the first thing any new SVX owner does with their car.
