I dunno if i'd agree with that neccesarily... Many times when driving a stock susp. car, you tear the heck out of the tires because of the geometry causing toe/camber upon compression. many people rip up the outside of the tires on their cars.
I still find the term "overdriving the tires" a bit... out there.
