R-comps and a spare set of '06 WRX D-stock legal wheels are my next planned upgrade. I would also agree with you 100% - once you switch to r-comps you'll have to re-learn how to drive the car all over again as braking and handling are greatly improved (acceleration out of tight turns can also improve).
About the stiffer bar thing...that's just wrong!
