Use caution while reconnecting battery!

This is just a stupid thing to know if you ever disconnect the car battery. (This may be common knowledge here.)

I installed a sub & amp in the trunk this weekend. When I reconnected the battery when I was done I heard an intermittent humming sound. It was the CD being ejected out of the player upon receiving power again. The problem was, the radio door was closed! The CD got jammed so that it wouldn't go back in, and I couldn't open the door to get it. I had to take out the ashtray, reach up and pull the CD down, bending it in half at a 45 degree angle, to allow the door to open. Luckily the CD player still works, and the CD returned to it's regialr flat shape (no crease!) Some CD's shatter into splitners when you bend them that much. Whew!

Remember, if you disconnect the battery, make sure either 1) you remove the CD from the player, or 2) you keep the audio door open, so that when you reconnect the battery, it ejects without problems.
