It is well known that the EG33 intake side flows quite well, so if you were to increase the lift/duration of the intake cams more than the exhaust cams, you would likely see an increase in unboosted power.

However, if one is to stagger the lift/duration of the cams, I would do it in the opposing manner. Modifying the exhaust cams for more duration and lift than the intake side should yield less turbo lag and a quicker spool.

Just be careful not to increase the lift and duration too much, else you will have two issues: Piston/valve interference and valve float. Interference is a terrible thing to have, but if your engine is timed properly it will not be an issue. Valve float, however, is a constant problem until remedied.

I would ultimately suggest increasing the duration and lift of both the cams in a *linear* manner.

G,
Good basic advice. Do you have any EG33-specific camshaft experience? As with just about everything SVX-performance related, finding folks with actual real-world experience has been a frustrating experience There has been some discussion here in the network regarding lift and the consensus seems to be that increasing the lift of the intake and exhaust by 1-2 mm should provide some increase in performance without any serious downside effects. On the cam duration side, no one seems to know exactly where the "knee in the curve" is for na engines or for boosted engines. Having the IRIS valve in the system only makes things that much more "interesting" Any thoughts as to how much the duration of the intake and exhaust could be increased for a na engine before the idle quality starts "going south"? How about overlap, given the fact that the EG33 tends to behave almost like two 3 cylinder engines?
