I tried to teach my daughter a few of the fundamentals when I was teaching her to drive. Might as well have been talking to a fence post. One time when she wanted to go for a drive, I told her she'd first have to jack the car ('86 Suby wagon), remove a tire and install the spare. That went over well. Thirteen years later, and she wouldn't know her Windstar's jack if it snuck-up and bit her.
