I was about 10 seconds behind everyone in my first dry auto-x, too.
Alright, TIMESLIPS.
This event was very humbling and confusing for me.
About 70 degrees, a few hundred feet above sea level.
First run, no opponent. Best of day for me. Kept it in D. Spun the waterbox.

Second run. Kept it in 3. Spun the box.

Third run. Kept it in 2. Box.

Fourth run. Spun tire, no box. Kept it in 1, until I started slowing down and it downshifted kinda hard. :/

Fifth run. Kept it in D. Spun tire, no box.

Final run. 2 and a half hours after the 5th run. Engine is cold. I kept it in D and avoided the waterbox, and idled to the stage. Worst time.

I had the opportunity for about 20 runs, but I could only imagine the havoc I was wreaking on the engine. I checked it over after every run but 4, which was back to back with 5. No extra leaks or weord noises.
Considering the future upgrades I have in mind my quarter will probably never meet 14s, which is very sad, and I give up drag racing.
