decisions regarding failing tranny :(
as some of you know, the tranny on my claret started to flare at every 1-2 shift on tuesday. after reading some threads, i though my tranny would benefit from the brake band adjustment. i made some calls and was first told that the tranny would have to be removed from the vehicle to adjust the band resulting in a six hour labor charge of about $550. on my second call, i was told that they couldn't do it and that it wouldn't help. finally, i called the dealer and was told the brake bad adjustment could be done for about $100. i was elated and took my car in to be looked at this morning. i was disappointed later this afternoon to be told again by the dealer that the adjustment wouldn't help and that my tranny was beginning to fail. so now it's time to decide what to do next.
