The torque steer occurs because the road has troughs, and as the tires move from trough to trough, the contact patch with the road moves from the center of the tire to the outside or inside of the tire. This changes the effective scrub radius of the wheels and causes torque steer. Its very common and happens with FWD, AWD, and RWD cars to some degree.
