I don't think FWD or AWD is the issue. There are days when my wheel flies around like crazy, and others I can let off and it will go straight and true for a good half mile.
I don't think my AWD is kicking in and out.
I would blame road conditions.
Do some testing. Find some perfectly flat road, come to a stop, and throttle off at varying pressures.
I think if at a low pressure on flat surface you will have an issue if torque steer is still apparent.
