Maybe...it could just be from the new parts "getting to know each other".... I'd still suggest dropping the pan after a couple hundred miles on the ATF you just put in to see if you get any repeat of "the sludge". My guess is you won't (at least I hope you don't!).

I was planning on draining the fluid again soon. Always a good thing to do, eh? I will be sure to make note of the sludge again, if necessary.
